All of them reached the national III or higher emission standard, and 1,268 old vehicles with poor environmental performance and poor discharge standards were eliminated. In 2009, according to environmental protection agency inspections, the pass rate of bus exhaust sampling in the city reached 96.8%, ensuring the vehicle technical support during the opening ceremony of the National Games and the hosting period. From 2006 to 2008, the cumulative reduction in public transportation in the three years was 495.1 tons. From January to September this year, a total reduction of 336.2 tons was achieved through vehicle renewal, engine modification and quota management. It is reported that bus fuel consumption accounts for 30% of operating costs.
