Pressure relief valve installation requirements

The pressure reducing valve is a special device that automatically reduces the working pressure of the pipeline. It can reduce the higher water pressure in the pipeline in front of the valve to the required level in the pipeline behind the valve. Pressure reducing valves are widely used in high-rise buildings, urban water supply network areas with high water pressure, mines and other occasions to ensure proper water pressure and flow for each water point in the water supply system. Since the water leakage rate and waste are almost proportional to the water pressure of the water supply system, the pressure reducing valve has the function of improving system operation and potential water saving. According to statistics, the water saving effect is about 30%. The importance of a pressure reducing valve can be seen, and the installation of all pressure reducing valves is essential. The following will mainly explain some of the pressure relief valve installation requirements.

The installation of pressure relief valve should meet the following requirements:

(1) The installation of the pressure relief valve shall be carried out after the water supply pipe network is pressure tested and flushed.
Inspection quantity: full inspection.
Inspection method: Check the pipeline pressure test and flushing records.

(2) Pressure reducing valve should be inspected before installation: its specification and model should be consistent with the design; there should be no looseness of the valve outside the control line and the pilot valve connector; appearance should be no mechanical damage, and should remove the valve foreign body.

Inspection method: check drawings, observation inspection and manual inspection

(3) The flow direction of the relief valve should be consistent with the flow of the water supply pipe network.

(4) The filter should be installed on the inlet side, and the control valve should be installed before and after it.

(5) The adjustable pressure reducing valve should be installed horizontally, and the valve cover should be upward.

(6) The proportional pressure relief valve should be installed vertically; when installed horizontally, the orifice of the single-respiratory relief valve should be downward, and the orifice of the dual-respiratory relief valve should be horizontal.

(7) When installing a self-reducing valve without a pressure gauge, install a pressure gauge on the adjacent parts before and after.
